The art and skill of winding your Vacheron Constantin.

A mechanical movement possesses inimitable charm. When it comes to life, it epitomizes outstanding expertise and evokes intense emotion. Now it’s your turn to awaken it through a few basic steps.

From a simple step to an everyday ritual. This type of movement requires you to wind your watch every day, ideally at the same time. To do so, just turn the crown clockwise until you feel some slight resistance at the end of the winding process. Be sure to not force it, as you risk damaging the movement.

How can I ensure the longevity of my watch?

Regular winding, approximately every 2-3 months, is recommended for all mechanical timepieces that are not worn for an extended period, in order to ensure the lubrication of the mechanical parts.

To wear your watch, it’s enough to get your heart going with some movement. Every single one of your movements ensures the automatic winding of the spring, and 8 hours on your wrist enables approximately one day of autonomy. In the case of reduced physical activity or if you don’t wear the watch frequently, your movement may not be enough for efficient winding. If need be, you may need to manually wind your watch. And if your watch stops for no apparent reason, we recommend you manually wind your timepiece and adjust the different functions. Finally, if in doubt, our qualified watchmakers are certainly capable of helping you.
